It’s so hard to believe that almost a whole school year has passed since we welcomed Elizabeth, Hayden, and Meghan to the PPS-PC team! All three students are seniors at ECU and are moving to a new step in their journey. PPS-PC has been lucky to have these young leaders as part of our chapter this year. Their energy and commitment has made much of the work of PPS-PC possible.

You may not have seen their faces often, but you absolutely saw the results of their work. We are so grateful for the flyers they created, the numerous social media posts they scheduled, the website updates they made so that our website stays current, the fundraisers they helped us plan, the community conversations they co-facilitated, the PEP workshops they manned registration for, the school tours they attended, the tour surveys they analyzed, and so much more. Above all, we are thankful that they shared their time, and especially their valuable thoughts and expertise with us. They truly made us better this year.

Our Executive Director asked them each what they enjoyed most about this internship, and to share a bit about where they plan to go from here. Meghan, the Bachelor of Social Work Intern, let us know that she has truly enjoyed interacting with public school parents and community members and hearing their voices. Meghan plans to graduate on May 6, 2022, and will begin the Advanced Standing Master of Social Work program at ECU just 10 days later! Elizabeth, a Marketing and Communications intern, expressed that she was able to push herself creatively, explore new marketing techniques, and learn from other interns and staff at PPS-PC. She is excited to move to Charlotte in the coming months, where she has already committed to using the skills she has strengthened at the job she recently accepted! Hayden, a Marketing intern, says she has genuinely enjoyed learning more about marketing and she plans to continue down this path in the future. She is very grateful to PPS-PC staff for providing her with this opportunity.

We wish all of these women success as they continue their education and careers, and thank them for their service to PPS-PC and the community.
