It has been just over two months since I was hired as the new Executive Director of Parents for Public School of Pitt County. During those two months I have learned even more about the great things PPS-PC does to support our schools in Pitt County. So far I have toured 15 of the schools in Pitt County, met with other partner organizations and nonprofit groups in Greenville, and had a chance to meet one on one with many PPS-PC Board members, PTA presidents, and other parents. I look forward to touring more schools and continuing to meet people in the community throughout the spring through the upcoming school tour series.

PPS-PC is one of nine local chapters in seven states connected to our national organization. The national office of Parents for Public Schools was founded in 1991. The current PPS-PC Chapter was launched in 2013. Parents for Public Schools of Pitt County advances the role of families and communities in securing a high quality public education for each child.  Over the course of the next year PPS-PC wants to be intentional about helping people in Pitt County learn more about PPS-PC as well as each of the great Pitt County Schools and our partner organizations.  Through our monthly newsletter, social media accounts and our website we look forward to sharing regular PPS-PC Spotlights to help our community get to know PPS-PC so they can better understand why we do what we do and who we work to support through our mission and programs.

Please contact us anytime with suggestions or observations that would help us further our mission. We love public schools!
