How will COVID-19 change PPS-PC programming? This is a question we are asked a lot these days, and the answer is that we, like everyone else, are still making plans, but look forward to an exciting year! At this time, our Parent Engagement Program has 15 applicants who are committed to becoming well equipped advocates of public education in Pitt County. Whether our classes meet in a park, a large space, or even need to meet virtually, the 6th PEP co hort will move forward as planned this year. Get ready Pitt County…15 more energized, motivated public education advocates are heading your way!

Our Community Conversations program is on track to begin immediately. We are ready to hear your comments on your perceptions and experiences of public schools. If you would like to schedule a community conversation among a group of parents or community members, please email kdibble@ppspittcounty.org. Depending on the size of the group and location, some may be able to be held in person while others could take place online.

And finally, School Tours may be our most challenging program to execute this year. At this time, in person tours of Pitt County Schools are understandably problematic.  However, some schools have already created virtual tours and we are happy to share those that are available, and will continue to talk with PCS about enhancing virtual options in lieu of in person tours.
