February 6 – 10 was National School Counselor week. Pitt County Schools has 75 counselors working across the district to help students dream big! Schools across the district did an excellent job during National School Counselor week showing their counselors appreciation for all that they do. It’s never too late to let your child’s counselor know they are appreciated. You can send them an email thanking them for what they do, encourage your child to make them a card and to smile and say hello when they see their counselor at school.

Counselors do so much for students, from leading character education sessions, to helping students with a multitude of social and emotional issues, to helping students determine the appropriate college or career path or directing them to scholarships. They are a part of the team at school collaborating to identify which students would benefit from a 504 plan or IEP. Students in Pitt County Schools are fortunate to have dedicated counselors at their school supporting them in a variety of ways.

Each month our newsletter includes spotlights on PPS-PC and Pitt County Schools. Learn more about the counselors at Wellcome Middle School in the PPS-PC Spotlights section of the newsletter.
