In December 2018, I began my four-year term on the Board of Education.  I have served one year as Vice Chair and am currently serving as the Chair of the Policy Committee.  Back in 2018, I ran for school board because I feel I have a unique perspective to bring to the board and because I feel strongly that fostering a strong public education system is vital for a community to thrive.  I am a product of Pitt County Schools, a parent of three children that attend Pitt County Schools, and am currently in my 25th year as a school psychologist within a neighboring public education system.  My background brings a unique perspective as a past student and graduate of Pitt County Schools, as a parent, and as a public school employee.  I am passionate about advocating for the betterment of our students while also being supportive of our school staff and community.  Some of my ongoing top priorities are continuing to address student learning gaps and other needs resulting from the pandemic and continuing to increase the local supplement to aid with recruitment and retention of school staff.  If reelected, I pledge to continue to serve as a committed, prepared, and engaged school board member working cooperatively alongside my board mates to continue to grow and strengthen Pitt County Schools.
