My name is Gary Davis and I am running for the office of Pitt County Board of Education District 1. My background is that first, I am a lifelong Pitt County resident who is a product of the Pitt County School system. I graduated from J.H. Rose and then I went to serve 8 years in the United States Air Force. I left the Air Force and began my career as a Police Officer in which I served as a School Resource Officer, Police Athletic League supervisor, among other things. I went back to school and earned my Associate degree in General Studies, and then on to receive my Bachelor and Master’s degrees in criminal justice. I currently work at the Pitt Community College Police Department with three grandkids currently in Pitt County Schools. Here are the things I care about a candidate for Pitt County Board of Education District 1:

I care about the education of children in the Pitt County School System. I am going to make sure our kids have the same fighting chance at the resources as our children in the private school system.

I care about the safety of children

I care about a fiscally sound budget.

I care about transparency between the board and the public.

I care about having a relationship with all my District schools and welcome new ideals from anybody who gives them.
