NEW – Online Registration Portal for the 2024-2025 school year

Beginning March 1st student enrollment will be available to be completed online for the first time. The online portal is available at  https://www.pitt.k12.nc.us/Page/263

Online student enrollment will be available through a central portal for all campuses. The portal will select the school assigned to the address and grade level of the student being enrolled. Online enrollment can be completed using a desktop, laptop, or cell phone. Parents and guardians may still go to the assigned district school based on their address and use the registration kiosk in the main office.

The following documents are required to enroll a student: photo identification of the parent/legal guardian, student’s birth certificate, copy of up-to-date immunization records, NC Health Assessment (Kindergarten enrollment only), two proofs of residence, and court order for guardianship (if student is living with someone other than the parent).

The list of registration dates by school specifically for Kindergarten Registration can be located here: https://www.pitt.k12.nc.us/cms/lib/NC01001178/Centricity/Domain/25/PCS_KindergartenRegistration_Flyer24.pdf

The initial open enrollment period for the upcoming school year will be March 1 – March 15. Applications submitted between March 1 – March 15 will be sent notifications for acceptance on or after March 16th. Open enrollment applications can be turned in after March 15th for consideration. In order for a student to be able to attend an open enrollment school on the first day of the school year, open enrollment applications must be completed by August 15th.

The list of open enrollment schools for the 2024-2025 school year was approved by the Board of Education on February 5, 2024. A new addition to the list this year is E.B. Aycock Middle School. Early Childhood Development Parent Engagement Cohort – Begins March 6th!

PPS-PC is excited to launch the first Early Childhood Development PEP Cohort in Pitt County. ECD PEP is an easy to understand curriculum based on research from the National Scientific Council on the Developing Child at Harvard University. ECD PEP is designed to teach parents, care givers, and educators how to utilize hands-on activities and strategies to support healthy childhood development during a child’s first five years of life.

The cohort will meet for four sessions, and each session will be three hours long. This inaugural ECD PEP cohort will meet March 6, March 20, April 3 and April 17 from 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Topics covered during ECD PEP include Brain Under Development, Social & Emotional Development, Minimizing Toxic Stress; Support Language and Literacy, and Nutrition & Physical Activity. The ECD PEP cohort is designed specifically for parents and caregivers of a child zero to five years old, or those who spend a lot of time with children that age in an educational or other setting.
