PPS-PC 2023 Community Leader School Tour Series –
The tour series included tours at South Central High School, E.B. Aycock Middle School, Innovation Early College High School, Stokes School, and Elmhurst Elementary School. Thank you to Meridian Park for sponsoring the tour series. Over 50 community leaders participated in the 2023 Community Leader School Tour Series. Thank you to all of the wonderful staff and students who led the tours. The community leaders were able to learn more about the great things happening at each of the schools and across the district. Dates for the 2024 Spring School Tour Series will be announced in January. The Spring School Tour Series will include tours at all Pitt County Schools and everyone in the community is invited to attend.
Early Childhood Development Parent Engagement Program Facilitator Training –
Kylene Dibble, Director of Chapter Services Parents for Public Schools, recently facilitated ECD PEP Facilitator training for Joshua Breazeale, PPS-PC Executive Director and Erin Perkins. Joshua and Erin are now trained to facilitate ECD PEP cohorts in Pitt County. Planning is beginning for the first ECD PEP cohort to begin meeting in Spring 2024.
North Carolina Department of Public Instruction NC Check-Ins 2.0 Individual Student Report Survey –
The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction is collecting feedback from parents and guardians to help inform the development of NC Check-Ins 2.0 Individual Student Reports (ISRs). NC Check-Ins 2.0 provides student specific information for teachers to use for instructional purposes. NC Check-Ins are not used for grades or for Accountability purposes.
The survey will take approximately 3-5 minutes to complete. Individual responses will be kept strictly confidential and will not be provided to any other person or group outside of NCDPI. Participation is voluntary, and parents and guardians may withdraw from this survey at any time by closing the browser window.
