I am a proud native of Pitt County and a product of Pitt County Schools. Following high school graduation, I went on to further my education at East Carolina University. I graduated in 1995 with a degree in Psychology and in 1999 with Masters and Certificate of Advanced Study degrees in School Psychology. I am currently in my 21styear practicing as a school psychologist in a public school system.
Some of my professional experiences include addressing the needs of struggling students and special needs children, ranging from the preschool population through early college students ; serving on district-wide committees to address discipline practices and policies and comprehensive school safety planning; providing supervision to interns and practicum students; assisting with recruitment of school personnel at regional and local job fairs; and handling departmental purchase requisitions within budgetary constraints. I also am currently participating in the 2018-2019 PPS Parent Engagement Program.
Undoubtedly my proudest and most critical role is being a mother. My three children are currently attending Ridgewood Elementary, twin girls in the fourth grade, and A. G. Cox Middle, son in the eighth grade and also transitioning into the high school domain with working towards obtaining high school credits.
