We have had a wonderful season of Community Leader tours, thanks to our sponsors at Meridian Park Apartments, and our partners at Pitt County Schools. We walked through the halls of three Pitt County Schools with realtors, bank loan officers, business leaders, and elected officials and candidates. These community leaders had an opportunity to learn more about the daily happenings at Lakeforest Elementary School, E. B. Aycock Middle School, and J.H. Rose High School.

As participants performed a choreographed Hallween dance with students at Lakeforest Elementary School, they realized just how engaged students are in their learning. As they met two music teachers at E.B .Aycock and learned about a specialized rock band class, they learned that schools offer more than meets the eye. As they went on a tour with two seniors at J.H. Rose High School, they saw firsthand the level of leadership created through the Pitt County Schools experience. Participants have been thrilled with the opportunity to walk through school hallways and learn what Pitt County Schools has to offer.

We invite community leaders (realtors, clergy, business leaders, elected officials), to join us for one more special Community Leader tour on December 1 at 8:30 am at Pitt Community College. While PCC is not a Pitt County School, they offer numerous programs that benefit Pitt County Schools’ students and families. We invite leaders to come learn how students are taking advantage of opportunities at Pitt Community College, even while completing their education with Pitt County Schools. To RSVP for this final tour of the series, please email kdibble@ppspittcounty.org.
