Each year, Parents for Public Schools of Pitt County is a proud sponsor of the Education Network Lunch, hosted by the Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce. The event is an opportunity for teachers and local businesses to connect with each other  and hear messages from inspiring speakers. Parents for Public Schools of Pitt County is tasked with providing a closing speech at the luncheon every year. Our Executive Director, Kylene Dibble, left the crowd this year with words that remind us that we are all working together to not only give our children the best education possible, but to also wrap them in love and safety and a sense that all of the trusted adults in their lives are working on the same team to help them grow into successful and happy young adults.

As parents, we want to make sure that all of the adults on our team are working with us to make the best choices when it comes to decisions that affect our children. That is why PPS-PC is committed to helping our members become confident advocates as we all work together to support  safe and nurturing schools in which our children can learn and grow. Please watch your email and our social media outlets for opportunities to be involved in advocacy over the coming months. From an upcoming session that will help us all learn the basics of education advocacy and policy, to a Board of Education Candidate Forum on October 18th (save the date), to an opportunity to exercise our right to vote in November; there will be many opportunities to be involved in choosing the team players who help us raise, protect, and love our children.
