Parents for Public Schools offers three main programs: School Tours, Community Conversations, and the Parent Engagement Program. We hope to have the opportunity to provide in person tours again this year for any family considering a move to Pitt County, a move to public schools, or a move between schools. We also hope to have the opportunity to take community members like realtors, business representatives, and clergy members into Pitt County Schools for tours. Until we are officially able to offer this program again, please keep in mind that virtual tours of PCS schools are available on the Parents for Public Schools YouTube channel.

The Parent Engagement Program Academy will begin in September, with a specific date to be announced. This year, the PEP Academy will provide one workshop per month, generally in the evening, on a topic relevant to parents and students. We hope these workshops will increase parent engagement in schools, and continue to foster relationships between parents and schools.

We hope for Community Conversations to return to an in person format this year, and we will also include Zoom options. Community Conversations are valuable opportunities to talk about both the celebrations and the challenges of your family’s experiences with Pitt County Schools. At this time, we plan to offer a minimum of one in person conversation and one zoom conversation for each attendance area. Additionally, we are happy to join your PTA or business as a guest speaker to facilitate a Community Conversation. Please follow our social media outlets, our newsletter, and  updates from your school to learn more about specific dates and times.
