Our Parent Engagement Program operates on a two year rotating schedule. Last year, we had an enthusiastic cohort of parents who committed to spending one full day per month with us, learning about how to be effective public education advocates. This year, we are moving to our workshop style PEP Academy.
Each month, we’ll offer a workshop of some kind (sometimes in person, sometimes an interactive Zoom, and sometimes a pre-recorded Zoom) about topics that are relevant to you as parents. To begin the year, we’ll share a recorded QA session, where we will speak with Pitt County Schools officials to answer parent questions about Covid protocols. If you have questions about Covid protocols at your school, please send them to kdibble@ppspittcounty.org by September 24 at 12pm.
Other topics this year will include the PCS Strategic Plan, a workshop from Tedi Bear Children’s Advocacy, Kindergarten 101, and more. We hope you’ll join us this year as we all learn valuable information. And of course, if you’d like to be part of the next PEP cohort, which will begin in September 2022, please let us know and we’ll make sure you get an application next Spring.
