Chamber Education Summit Features Career Prep

By April 24, 2018April 2018, Newsletter

The Greenville-Pitt County Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Education Summit on May 16, 2018. Chamber Chairman Dr. Christopher Locklear’s focus for 2018 revolves around exposing middle and high school students to potential career pathways in our community.  In doing so, the Education Summit for the year will set the stage for work that will launch in a pilot program this summer with the Boys & Girls Club, followed by an open opportunity for middle and high school students county wide during the 2018-2019 school year.

Event Description:
The summit will begin with a presentation by Pitt County Schools looking at our future world, jobs current students will likely see available, and trainings in the workforce. Following this presentation will be a keynote discussion with Sarah Moylan, senior director of talent for the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce, on a program they created and have successfully run for two years. Our Chamber is working with the Greater Omaha Chamber to model a similar program here locally.
