Kindergarten 101: January 30 9:30am St. James United Methodist Church

Are you the parent or guardian of a rising kindergarten student? Then this program is for you! We know that every parent has questions about kindergarten (even if this is not your first kindergarten experience)! Attendance at the fourth annual Kindergarten 101 workshop will allow you to learn about registration, medical requirements, how you can prepare your child for kindergarten, and more.

You’ll hear from experts such as Dr. Ethan Lenker – Superintendent of Pitt County Schools, Jennifer Johnson – Public Information Officer for Pitt County Schools, Lisa Tate, Director of K-5 Education for Pitt County Schools, Dr. Jennifer Crotty – pediatrician, and others. By the end of the morning, you’ll feel well prepared to get ready to enter one of the most exciting times of your family’s life: Kindergarten! The event is free and open to the public, but pre-registration is encouraged at this link  https://bit.ly/2QDocGT .

Spring 2019 School Tour Series

Did you know that Pitt County has 38 public schools, and 26 of those are currently listed as open enrollment options? If your family is currently making decisions about where your children will attend school next year, we are here to help! Between the dates of January 31-February 14, an opportunity will be available to tour each Pitt County School.

The fourth annual Spring Tour Series, hosted by Mebane Realty, encourages parents to tour a school with other parents. You’ll hear questions from families going through the same decision-making process your family is encountering. And who knows? You and your child might meet some new friends on the tour! To see the tour dates and sing up, click the signup.com link or contact Kylene Dibble at kdibble@ppspittcounty.org or 252-758-1604 ext. 201.
