Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement that began 10 years ago in 2012. This year, people in over 80 countries around the world committed to giving and acts of service during the annual Giving Tuesday celebration on November 29, 2022. This year alone it is estimated that $3.1 billion was donated in the United States, representing a 15% increase from 2021 (givingtuesday.org).
This year 77 individuals made a donation in support of Parents for Public Schools of Pitt County on Giving Tuesday, helping exceed our goal of $7,500 by raising $7,625 for PPS-PC! We are so thankful for the many ways that our supporters made Giving Tuesday 2022 a huge success through making a donation, sharing our posts and telling family and friends about the many ways we impact our community and support public education.
There are countless organizations right here in our community, in our state and country, and around the world that are worthy of supporting, financially and in other ways. We are honored that so many people chose to make PPS-PC one of the organizations they supported financially this year. Each and every dollar given will directly support the work we do including offering School Tours of all 38 PCS schools, supporting our Parent Engagement Program, and making it possible for people’s voices to be heard through our Community Conversations.
Every act of generosity counts and everyone has something to give. Giving Tuesday 2022 has come and gone but the opportunity to be generous is available each and every day. There are countless ways that you can support PPS-PC. Tell a friend, neighbor or coworker about who we are and what we do. Be intentional about engaging with one of our Pitt County Schools. Consider being a part of one of our Parent Engagement Cohort groups or attending a parent engagement seminar. Be an advocate for securing a high quality public education for each PCS child.
