Thank you to the many parents, teachers, administrators, and community members who participated in our community conversations this past school year. We also extend a thank you to Tami Lynn Home Team, who sponsored the entire Community Conversations program this year.

We were able to speak with 205 individuals through 22 community conversations. A printed copy of the report has been delivered to all Pitt County Board of Education members, as well as key leaders for Pitt County Schools. In addition, PPS-PC’s executive director presented an oral report to the Board of Education on June 7th highlighting the top themes of the report.

Top themes included an appreciation for PCS creativity and flexibility during the pandemic, support for additional resources in the schools, a desire to see resources more equitably distributed across schools, a desire to see school faculty and the BOE better reflect the diversity of our students and county, and varying thoughts about the school dress code.

The full oral report can be viewed at the Board of Education recording found here. The report will soon be available on our website, and anyone can obtain a copy of it by emailing kdibble@ppspittcounty.org. It is important to us that the voices of our community are heard by those who make decisions affecting public schools. To schedule a community conversation with your group, please contact Kylene Dibble at the aforementioned email address.
