2025 Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive
Saturday August 23rd volunteers will be at the Walmart on 10th St – 4600 E. Tenth St. Greenville – from 10:00 – 2:00 to collect donated school supplies to give to Pitt County Schools. You can purchase supplies at Walmart during the event and drop them off with volunteers outside as you leave the store. If you have already purchased supplies to donate or have collected items you may drop them off during the event and volunteers will load those onto the school bus or send an email to jbreazeale@ppspittcounty.org to coordinate another time to drop off donated school supplies. Pitt County Schools Social Workers identify where supplies are needed and help facilitate getting the supplies to the schools that need them most.
High need items included: Book bags, zipper pencil cases, pencils, pens, markers, colored pencils, composition books, glue sticks, 3 ring binders, pocket folders, clear protector sheets and index cards.

Open House and First Day Mark the Beginning of the New School Year
There are a few more weeks of summer vacation before school starts but the first day is just around the corner. Open House is a great time to meet your child’s teacher, pick up important information about the beginning of the school year and to find out what supplies are needed for your child and their classroom.
Open House is on Thursday August 21st –
Grades K-5, 4:00 – 6:30 pm
Grades K-8 and 6-8, 5:00 – 7:30 pm
Grades 9-12, 6:00 – 8:30 pm
First day of school – Monday August 25th!
*Students starting kindergarten will have a staggered entry. Depending on the school, staggered entry is either a two-day or three-day staggered start model. Your child’s school will confirm the staggered entry plan for their school.
