We are a little late to the game, but it is never too late to thank a school counselor! February 7-11 was school counselor appreciation week. If you wrote a note or did something kind for your school counselor to say thank you, know that you were appreciated! If you have not yet written a note of thanks to your school counselor, consider doing so. They will appreciate it even if it is not during School Counselor Appreciation Week.
Counselors do so much for our students, from leading character education sessions, to helping students with a multitude of social and emotional issues, to helping students determine the appropriate college or career path or directing them to scholarships. We could take up an entire newsletter describing all that counselors do for our students, but we will suffice it to say that we could never thank counselors enough and we are so grateful our students have them as a resource.
If you are unfamiliar with your school counselor, take a moment to introduce yourself and thank them for all that they do, even if you have not utilized them just yet. For your convenience, we’ve included a graphic here that lists the name and school of each counselor in Pitt County Schools. You can find their email addresses on your school website.
