Teachers, Employees of the Year Honored at annual PCS Awards Banquet –
Pitt County Schools hosted the annual PCS Awards Banquet on Wednesday, March 12th. The awards banquet was sponsored by the Pitt County Farm Bureau at Rock Springs Center.
–Teacher of Year: Emily Sims; Eastern Elementary
Teacher of the Year Runner-up: Elyse McRae; South Central High
Additional Finalists: Caroline Fairbrother; Elmhurst Elementary and
Jacqueline Hill; South Greenville Elementary
– NCCAT Empower Beginning Teacher of the Year: Aiyana Mourino; Grifton School
The Teacher of the Year representatives from each school were also recognized during the banquet.
–Teacher Assistant of the Year: Teresa Harris; H.B. Sugg and Sam D. Bundy Elementary
–Office Staff of the Year: Tabettye Holloman; Sadie Saulter Pre-K Center
–Custodian of the Year: Mickie Fields; Eastern Elementary
–School Nutrition Manager of the Year: Felicia Cabarrus; C.M. Eppes Middle
–School Nutrition Worker of the Year: Amber Wilson; Eastern Elementary

2025 Spring School Tour Series Update –
During the 2025 Spring School Tour Series there were 35 school tours at 32 Pitt County Schools. Those tours included just under 400 total participants. Thank you to each school that hosted a tour, to each participant that attended one or more tours, and to the tour series sponsors – Children’s Health Services and Pitt Community College. Without the support from those groups and individuals the tour series would not be possible.
