Lassiter said. “It is imperative to have outstanding administrative leaders such as Ms. Newman and Ms. Swain serving our district in an exemplary manner and that is clearly reflected in the respect both have earned from their peers.” National Principals month is celebrated annually in October. PPS-PC 2024 Community Leader School Tour Series –

In the fall each year PPS-PC, in partnership with Pitt County Schools, hosts a school tour series designed for community leaders to learn more about Pitt County Schools. Any community leader including elected officials, candidates running for office, bankers, real estate agents, business owners, and faith leaders are invited to attend one or more tours. Each Community Leader School Tour Series includes a school tour at a traditional elementary, middle and high school, a tour at one of the PCS K-8 schools and a tour at one of the two PCS early college high schools or Sadie Saulter Pre-K center. PPS-PC would like to thank the following schools who hosted school tours this year – Sadie Saulter Pre-K Center, Bethel School, Belvoir Elementary School, A.G. Cox Middle School and Ayden-Grifton High School. Thank you to all of the community leaders who took time out of their busy schedules to attend one or more of the tours. PPS-PC extends a heartfelt thank you to the Community Leader School Tour Series sponsor, Meridian Park Apartments, whose support helped make the 2024 tour series possible. Meridian Park gives back to the community in a variety of ways and supports Pitt County Schools employees by providing a 10% rental discount to all PCS employees who call Meridian Park home.

PPS-PC is excited about the upcoming 2025 Spring School Tour Series. The Spring School Tour Series includes tours at all Pitt County Schools and provides the opportunity for anyone in the community to tour one or more schools. Tour dates for that tour series will be confirmed by the end of the year and individuals will be able to sign up to attend tours early in 2025. All tours during the Spring School Tour series will be scheduled during the month of February and the first two weeks of March to provide individuals who will be considering Open Enrollment options to be able to tour schools prior to the open enrollment application for the 2025-2026 school year becoming available.
